Behind the Scenes of Jeju Island Scuba Diving : Japanese TV Production × Korean Diving Culture

A behind-the-scenes documentation of a Japanese television production crew's visit to Jeju Island to film an interview segment and broadcast feature on Korean scuba diving culture.

This project captures the unseen moments of a professional TV shoot. The preparation, the on-location coordination, and the authentic interactions between the Japanese production team and local Korean divers. Set against the rugged coastal backdrop of Gangjung-dong in Seogwipo, the images reveal what happens before and after the camera rolls.

Jeju's southern coast, particularly the Seogwipo region, is renowned for its exceptional dive sites. Clear waters, diverse marine ecosystems, and the centuries-old tradition of the haenyeo free-divers. This shoot brought that world into focus for a Japanese broadcast audience, with the behind-the-scenes photography serving as an intimate visual record of the entire production process.
